The Lusail Olympic Precinct provides a focal point for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and a Qatar Olympic bid. The main podium will house four major sporting venues – the FIFA stadium, an aquatic centre, a velodrome and BMX centre and a multi-purpose sports hall. The lower level of the podium deck will provide car parking and service access while the upper level will provide leisure, retail and public access for events. The west side will connect to the two proposed metro stations while the east side has been designated for public vehicular access. The north side of the site will focus on the legacy mode with the women’s sports hub and the recreational, hospitality and leisure facilities.
